Haddenham Comfi Wave ( thigh highs) and waist belt

Posted by Christine on 10th Aug 2023

I have Stage 4 lung cancer (never having smoked). Targeted treatment for this cancer is known to cause lymphoedema. Furthermore, tprogression from the cancer has involved the lymph nodes in the groin causing a further blockage. My oncologist was to refer me to lymphoedema service in February 2022. I managed by myself with the symptoms since starting targeted therapy in October 2018. I do not think the medical profession is aware of the impact on the life of patients with the condition. I finally saw a Lymphoedema Specialist Nurse on 8 August 2023. She was outstanding in her knowledge and encouraged me no end. Communication between Lymphoedema service and GP is rather archaic, which is also the case between GP practice and pharmacy. Consequently a process due to take one month took more than two months and sadly, the day I should have attended to be supervised by my L. Nurse in first fitting of made-to-measure garments (last Wednesday), my GP sent me urgently to our local A &E "to rule out compression of the spinal cord by the metastases ". I have been an in-patient since. Fortunately, the Haddenham Comfi thigh highs garments arrived just over a week ago. Using excellent gardening gloves to aid grip, I have been thrilled with your Comfi Wave innovation. They are very easy to don, and, with gloves, easy to doff. I really hope to have the opportunity to use them in conjunction with the compression garments that I am aching to try. Wish me luck!

Good quality, comfortable garment. Very prompt delivery. However, it takes a little time to get used to. I have also been using it during the day, when at home, over my prescribed compression wear. It has been helpful for extra support. As a result, I’m considering purchasing the whole leg support in due course.
